Green Thumb

 

I have been told

That I am far too kind

Too giving 

Too generous 

Too selfless

I disagree 

Because I do not think 

That I stretch beyond my capacity 

And I truly believe

That everyone deserves 

The love that I have to give

Maybe I give more 

Than I give to myself 

But it’s in the hope 

That someday

Someone sees it

And they give to me

And we grow together

Watered in kindness

With roots of compassion

In the soil of generosity 

And together

We will have a beautiful garden

Of all the love we have cultivated 

Then we can just sit back

And watch the flowers bloom
