My love 

You don’t need them

The only validation you require 

Is your own 

If you don’t believe in yourself 

You will never be able to just be

For you will always be seeking love

In the approval of others 

And you will not find it 

People can appreciate you 

They can comfort you

But they aren’t always there

And you will be alone at times

Sometimes more than you care to be

And your voice will be the only one you hear

So make sure you are kind to yourself

Self deprecation gets you nowhere but down

And my darling you deserve the sky

And all of the twinkling stars in it 

You don’t need to be wanted by someone

To know that you are beautiful 

And you are worthy of love

Especially your own
